Description
Short description
Our food system causes around one third of global CO₂ emissions and is facing massive challenges: rising costs, labor shortages, and growing demand for healthy, sustainable, and functional products. Existing production systems were not designed for this: they are too inflexible, too energy-intensive, and not scalable.
The market is ready for new protein solutions. What is missing is the technology to produce them efficiently and industrially.
This is exactly where we come in. Our patented software-controlled 3D extrusion technology combines portioning, filling, shaping, and texturizing in an automated production solution. This enables complex structured foods to be produced flexibly – with variable shape, texture, and composition, without hardware adjustments. It also enables multi-layered, fibrous structures that are hardly achievable with conventional processes.
With THE TASTE FACTORY in Vienna, we operate the world’s largest industrial production facility for 3D food printing and have validated our technology at industrial scale: We already produce several tons per month, demonstrating for the first time that 3D food printing is industrially scalable.
To prove market demand, we brought the first 3D-printed food product to supermarkets: already more than 1 million units have been sold. Available, among others, in more than 1,000 retail locations across Europe, including REWE, EDEKA, BILLA, Tegut, and SPAR.

With this pillar of our business model, we are on the path to profitability: With the last financing round, we were able to increase our efficiency and raise capacity from 25,000 to 60,000 units per month. At the same time, from 2024 to 2025 we achieved 110% revenue growth. Based on our current unit cost calculation, we reach profitability at around 150,000 units sold per month, which corresponds to monthly revenue of approximately 300,000 €.
We are pioneers in the field of 3D food structuring and are not only a pioneer, but also a technology leader in this growing field. In the long term, we will complement our business by selling and licensing our production technology to food manufacturers.
With this round of funding, we are investing in our next generation of machines and, starting in the fall of 2026, will build a high-margin, scalable B2B pillar of our business model: the licensing and sale of industrial 3D food production systems.
Now is the ideal time to invest: Our technology is validated, demand for the products is growing strongly – and we are on the verge of scaling. Become part of this development and invest in the future of food production.

Product and Customer Benefits
We are pioneers in the field of 3D food structuring and are not only a pioneer, but also a technology leader in this growing field. Our core innovation lies in the development of modular, licensable machines that integrate fat and protein components to create entirely new food structures – and thereby open up new product categories. Our technology is based on several patented developments in the field of software-controlled food structuring and industrial extrusion systems.
To validate and demonstrate the scalability of our technology, we have focused on bringing complex structured protein products to the mass market. In doing so, we prove not only our technological edge, but also the commercial potential of our production platform.
Our systems enable food manufacturers to flexibly produce complex structured foods – without extensive retrofitting of existing production lines. Shape, texture, and design can be adjusted via software control, without the need for new molds or machines. This makes faster product development, industrial mass personalization, and the processing of a wide variety of viscous food masses on the same production line possible. Details about the machines can be found under the section “Innovation and Technology”.
With our self-developed industrial 3D food printing process, we have now successfully brought several products for end consumers to market.
3D-printed fish alternatives based on mycoprotein
Our salmon fillet alternative “THE FILET” became the first 3D-printed food available in supermarkets in 2023. Here, we hold an absolute pioneer status.

Following the success of THE FILET, we saw that many people also prefer lighter, culinary variants. Therefore, from February 2025, we were able to launch several marinated versions of THE FILET, such as ASIAN FUSION STYLE, PINK PEPPER & LEMON STYLE, or BBQ STYLE.
In March 2025, we launched the first vegan alternative to white fish fillets, reminiscent of char or cod in taste. Its very fine structure is visually highly appealing, and its juicy taste is very well received by consumers. This product was also able to convince BILLA and SPAR to list it and is enjoying growing popularity.
To offer our end consumers the broadest possible product portfolio, we have also brought further alternative products to market. For example, in 2024 we introduced THE KRAKEN, a globally unique innovation – the world’s first vegan octopus alternative. The first edition was sold out within just 24 hours. In addition, with our mycoprotein HACK, we also have a versatile meat alternative in our portfolio. HACK follows a clean-label concept with just a few carefully selected ingredients.
In the long term, our platform can process a wide variety of food masses – from protein formulations and doughs to purées – on the same production line. Through additional modules such as heated or cooled printing surfaces, the range of applications can be expanded significantly in the future.
Our products are available in BILLA, SPAR, 4 REWE regions, and 3 EDEKA regions and demand for them is growing.
Next-gen protein products based on mycoprotein
Given the changing trends in the industry, we are shifting our focus away from the traditional market for alternative products and toward standalone, protein-rich, and healthy products for health-conscious consumers. With mycoprotein, our high-quality, sustainable, and healthy main ingredient, we developed THE PRIME CUT – a versatile protein base that can be added to any meal. In this spirit, we are now also developing a new, tofu-like product.

Innovation and technology
“3D extrusion allows us to completely rethink food production and place people’s individual needs at the center of the technology." Robin Simsa, Commercial Director of Revo Foods GmbH
Revo Foods is developing a new technology for additive food manufacturing (3D food printing).
The following points are particularly relevant:
- Integration of two different material phases: Our technology combines plant-based protein fibers with fats, which are essential for consistency – an achievement that no other technology offers.
- Scaling through a continuous process: We have developed a new 3D extrusion print head design, (2 patents) which for the first time enables the continuous extrusion of a viscous material stream (e.g. plant-based proteins) and is protected by two patents. Another patent covers our multi-nozzle systems (1 patent), which allow large amounts of material to be produced simultaneously. Both technology developments are essential for the cost-effective, high-volume production of food products.
- Software control: Our proprietary slicing software enables the fast and flexible production of 3D foods. We are the first company in the world to implement a software environment specifically for the application of 3D food printing. Our software is a relevant technology aspect of Revo Foods and will also be relevant for licensing to other companies in the future.
- 3D extrusion technology: Our new 3D extrusion technology enables flexible industrial production of high-quality products with complex shapes and structures. For the first time, seamless integration of vegan fat into plant-based protein fibers can take place. Our systems combine several process steps – portioning, filling, shaping, and texturizing – in one automated production solution. This enables a new generation of food products such as authentic fish and meat alternatives and can be applied in many other areas across the entire food industry.
- Production capacity: Through the continuous production process combined with our multi-nozzle system (patent filed), it is now possible for the first time to industrialize 3D food printing and bring it to the mass market. In our production facility “THE TASTE FACTORY”, we have been the first company worldwide since September 2024 to demonstrate that this technology is also suitable for producing many tons per month, and our production capacity is continuously increasing with new technology developments.
- Mycoprotein: Revo Foods has also created a new innovation in material development. The main ingredient of our products is fermented fungal protein (“mycoprotein”), which has a high degree of fibrousness created through the 3D printing process. Mycoprotein has a complete amino acid profile and high bioavailability, making it very nutritious and partly responsible for the NutriScore “A” of our salmon fillet.
- We are technology pioneers. Our goal is to sell and license our production technology: industrial, modular systems including software and service for food manufacturers worldwide.
Market and target audience
Our goal is to license our patented technology together with our software and our support and sell it as a modular production solution to food companies worldwide.
Our primary target groups are large and medium-sized food producers – especially in the areas of alternative proteins, functional foods, and viscous food masses. In addition, we address applications in the field of personalized food production for retail, foodservice, catering, and corporate branding.
We are already in discussions with leading food producers and technology pioneers to continuously further develop our machines and bring them into industrial applications.

The global market for 3D food production is one of the fastest-growing food-tech segments worldwide. Leading market research companies forecast annual growth of around 30–35 % until 2030–2034. Fortune Business Insights expects the global market to grow from around USD 531 million in 2025 to around USD 7.8 billion by 2034. Europe is considered one of the most important growth markets.
The market for alternative proteins is particularly relevant: According to BCG and Blue Horizon, it could grow to around USD 290 billion by 2035. This is exactly where our technology creates a decisive production advantage: complex textures, flexible production, and faster development of new products on a single production platform.
The need for flexible production solutions is rising sharply: Food manufacturers must bring new products to market faster, more efficiently, and with greater variety. This is exactly where our technology comes in: It enables the software-controlled production of complex structured foods and creates product categories and textures that cannot be economically realized with conventional processes – while offering significantly higher flexibility in production.
Our systems combine several process steps – portioning, filling, shaping, and texturizing – in one automated production solution. This opens up a wide range of possible applications for various product types and use cases in the food industry.
At the same time, we continue to expand our distribution channels to reach more customers worldwide, demonstrate the scalability of our technology, and continuously develop new products.
Competition and Unique Selling Points
Revo Foods has successfully transferred the 3D extrusion process into a scalable, industrial application for the first time, proving that 3D food printing works not only at laboratory scale, but also enables continuous production at large scale. While many approaches on the market remain limited to small batches, we have created the foundation for a new generation of industrial production systems with our patented technology.
At the heart of our competitive advantage is our unique, modular system that combines hardware, software, and process know-how. This integrated solution enables not only efficiency and scalability, but above all the production of entirely new product structures and textures that cannot be achieved with existing technologies. This creates a clearly differentiated product offering with a superior quality profile.

Our focus is on establishing this technology as a scalable business model: through the licensing of our patented systems, including software and support, to international food companies. Initial discussions with leading producers and technology partners confirm the strong interest in our solution.
This positions Revo Foods not only as a food brand, but as a technology leader in the field of industrial 3D food production – with the potential to set new standards in the industry and sustainably differentiate itself from the competition.
Business Model and Sales
Revo Foods pursues a dual business model that combines short-term revenue from product sales with long-term, high-margin growth through technology licensing.
Our business model is based on two complementary pillars: the sale of our own products as a market entry strategy as well as the scalable commercialization of our technology through licensing and system sales.

Step 1: Market entry through the sale of end products based on our technology
To validate and further develop our technology under real market conditions, demonstrate demand, and achieve profitability, we started by selling products directly and through distribution partners: to supermarkets, wholesalers, and foodservice businesses, as well as through our online shop directly to end customers.
Already today, our products are available at leading European retail chains such as EDEKA, REWE, BILLA, SPAR, and ICA, as well as through numerous foodservice and distribution partners.
Our current production capacity is 60,000 units per month. Based on our current unit cost calculation, we reach profitability at around 150,000 units sold per month, which corresponds to monthly revenue of approximately 300,000 €.
Step 2: Scaling through licensing and sales of our technology
In the long term, however, the focus is clearly on expanding our technology business: From autumn 2026, we will actively expand our B2B technology business, focusing on the licensing and sale of our industrial 3D food production systems, including software and support.
This model enables significantly higher scalability and margin structure than a purely product-based business.
With industrial scaling achieved in 3D food printing, interest from major food corporations is increasing, as our technology makes the mass production of novel products with complex structures economically viable for the first time. We are already in discussions with potential partners and are actively building this business area, with market entry planned from 2027 onward.
For food manufacturers, this means: faster product development, shorter changeover times, flexible small-batch production or mass personalization, and the ability to economically produce novel textures and product categories.
This creates concrete industrial applications: from personalized products for events, catering, and corporate branding to the flexible production of new protein products with complex fiber structures. Already today, we produce individualized food applications for companies – for example, a personalized dessert for the Austrian telecommunications group A1, where logos were printed directly into a cheesecake structure, as well as edible 3D-printed knives for an international marketing campaign by a Swedish-American company.
In the long term, our platform enables the flexible processing of a wide variety of food masses – from protein formulations and doughs to purées – on the same production line. Through additional modules such as heated or cooled printing surfaces, the range of applications can be expanded significantly in the future.

About Revo Foods
There are many companies in the field of plant-based protein products – but Revo Foods stands apart fundamentally through its proprietary, patented production technology. Our unique selling proposition lies not only in the product, but in the system behind it: a novel, industrially scalable 3D production platform that enables the creation of complex food structures and textures that are not possible with existing processes.
The origins of this technology lie in research: during his PhD, Robin developed the foundation for a new process technology after it became clear that conventional extrusion methods were reaching their limits in the production of structured, high-quality protein products. From this emerged the vision of fundamentally rethinking food production – through the use of 3D food printing as an industrial solution.
Since the company was founded in 2021, this technology has been systematically advanced – from initial prototypes and pilot products to industrial scale-up. In 2023, Revo Foods became the first company in the world to bring a 3D-printed food product into retail, thereby proving the market viability of the technology.
With the opening of the first industrial production facility (“THE TASTE FACTORY”) in Vienna in September 2024, the next milestone was achieved: our modular machines are already being used there in continuous operation and are currently producing more than 40,000 units per month. This facility serves not only for production, but above all as a proof of concept for the industrial applicability and scalability of our technology.
The resulting products, together with partnerships with leading retailers, demonstrate market demand and validation – but above all they form the basis for the next step: scaling our technology business through international partnerships, licensing models, and the sale of our production systems.
FAQ
You position yourselves as a technology company, but your website makes it look as if you were a manufacturer of vegan food products. How does that fit together?
Our food products are the first visible application of our technology.
Revo Foods develops a software-controlled 3D extrusion technology for the industrial production of complex structured foods. To validate this technology under real market conditions, we produce and sell our own products. This allows us to demonstrate that our technology not only works in the lab, but also convinces in terms of taste, texture, quality, scalability, and market demand.
Our website is currently strongly aimed at consumers and retail partners, which is why the products are in the foreground there. In the long term, however, the focus is on the technology business: industrial production systems including software, service, and licensing models for food manufacturers worldwide.
In short: The products are our proof of market – the technology is our scaling model.
Why do you bring food products to market if you actually want to sell machines?
Because industrial food technology is only convincing if it creates real products that consumers buy and retail partners list.
With our own products, we validate several things at the same time: the technical performance of our systems, industrial scalability, product quality, market demand, and the economics of production. At the same time, we collect valuable data and experience to further develop our machines, software, recipes, and processes.
For potential B2B partners, this is important proof: They see not just a machine, but a functioning production system with market-ready products, existing distribution channels, and real demand.
Selling our own products is therefore step 1. Step 2 is scaling through our technology business. Through licensing and selling industrial 3D food production systems including software and support.
What other products can be manufactured with this technology?
Our technology is not limited to individual products, but designed as a platform for the development and industrial production of a wide range of structured foods. In addition to our first applications in the field of plant-based fish and protein products, we are continuously working on the development of new materials, recipes, and product concepts that are specifically optimized for our production systems.
The focus is on opening up entirely new product categories with innovative textures and functionalities that cannot be achieved with existing technologies. This will enable our partners to develop and produce a broad range of differentiated products in the future – from protein-rich foods to entirely new food concepts.
Is the technology also suitable for other food processes?
Yes, our technology is deliberately designed as a flexible, modular system and can process a wide range of viscous raw materials – from protein-based masses and doughs to purées and other food matrices.
In parallel with the further development of our machines, we are actively working on new materials and applications to continuously expand the range of use cases for our technology. This creates a scalable platform that can be used in different segments of the food industry.
The interest from large food producers already confirms this potential today. Our goal is to license the technology across the industry after successful scaling, thereby opening up new industrial applications and additional revenue streams.
How healthy can 3D-printed foods be?
“3D-printed” initially says nothing about whether a food is healthy or unhealthy. What matters – as with any food – are the ingredients, nutritional values, recipe, and production standards.
Our 3D extrusion is a production technology: It makes it possible to shape, structure, and combine ingredients precisely. This allows us to produce foods with complex textures while also paying close attention to nutritional values, taste, and quality.
Our products are based on mycoprotein and other selected ingredients. They are high in protein, contain fiber, and, depending on the product, provide additional micronutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals.
Isn’t 3D printing only suitable for prototypes, but too slow for food production?
One of the key development aspects of our work is establishing a continuous industrial process in 3D food printing. Our systems are more comparable to dosing systems that have long been used in the food industry, for example in chocolate production, but with more complex extrusion systems as well as 3D kinematics during the process. By using multi-nozzle systems and connecting multiple extrusion systems, we achieve production volumes at the same cost that are nearly identical to conventional extrusion systems, while also being able to produce more complex shapes and textures. In our production facility “THE TASTE FACTORY”, we already produce several tons of products per month, and output is continuously increasing!
