Description
Short description
Worldwide, more than 70 million patients suffer from chronic or non-healing wounds. Diabetics and elderly people are particularly often affected and may have to endure healing periods lasting many months or even years. According to current scientific findings, one thing is clear: One of the most important components of successful therapy is cleansing these wounds. Because only a clean wound can heal.
In practice, however, wound cleansing is expensive, complex, painful, and burdensome for both patients and healthcare professionals.
Until now. This is where curason comes into play. Our revolutionary mobile ultrasound wound cleanser can mechanically remove wound deposits while reducing germs. Through its combination of soft, vibrating bristles and the delivery of low-frequency ultrasound, it supports optimal wound therapy. What makes our curason revolutionary is its compact design, which enables a significant reduction in costs as well as less treatment effort. It is currently the only solution that can be used directly on the patient anytime and anywhere.
Customer reports and clinical results indicate that curason effectively and sustainably supports the path to successful wound healing. Today, curason is already used by 180 satisfied end customers, and we are experiencing continuous customer growth of 25 – 30% per year!

Our scalable business model combines medical benefits with economic efficiency: The handheld device is provided to clinics predominantly under a rental model, while treatment-related revenues are generated through the sale of single-use cleansing heads.
Following successful market launches in Europe, curason is already being marketed in Brazil, Australia, and Canada. Further expansion into the MENA regions is planned, with a clear focus on preparing market entry into the USA, which would almost double the current market potential.
With a fully developed product ready for series production, our next step is to systematically drive international scaling. Our vision is clear: less pain, faster healing, and a better quality of life for millions of people worldwide. curason stands for a new era in wound therapy. Invest now in genuine medical progress.

Product and Customer Benefits

With curason, curasonix offers an innovative handheld ultrasound wound cleanser developed for professional users such as physicians and qualified wound care nurses. Wound care centers, hospitals, and medical practices benefit from its mobile, intuitive use directly at the patient’s side. Weighing only around 300 g, curason is currently the only solution that can be used anytime and anywhere – the patient no longer needs to be brought in for wound cleansing; instead, the treatment comes to the patient.

The versatile single-use cleansing head covers almost the entire spectrum of relevant treatment areas, benefiting a large number of patients. In combination with antiseptic solutions, gels, or modern cold plasma treatments, curason supports effective wound cleansing and the elimination of harmful pathogens. To prevent accidental reuse of the single-use cleansing head, the heads are connected to the device via RFID detection.
In this way, curasonix addresses a growing medical and economic problem: infected, non-healing wounds that place a significant burden on patients and increasingly strain healthcare systems. The patented, miniaturized low-frequency ultrasound technology enables highly efficient use – flexible, effective, and cost-efficient.
curason is also sustainable:
- 80% lower water consumption compared with existing wound cleansing methods
- The base material of the curason head can be recycled and reused
- Energy savings through fewer outpatient visits and patient transports
- Use of a particularly energy-efficient sterilization process for the cleansing heads
- Reduced use of dressing materials, as a well-cleansed wound heals significantly faster and requires fewer dressing changes
Innovation und Technology
The curason is the first and so far the only handheld ultrasound wound cleansing instrument that enables the treatment of infected and non-healing wounds. The basis of this innovation is the unique combination of several cleansing principles in one compact, mobile device, consistently designed around the needs of users and patients.
Wound cleansing with curason is based on three central mechanisms of action: the mechanical removal of wound coatings, the elimination of impurities through vibration and irrigation, and the deep-acting reduction of biofilms, the effectiveness of which has been demonstrated in laboratory tests. A gently vibrating brush in combination with low-frequency ultrasound ensures gentle cleansing.
The flexible handheld unit is ideally suited for use even in small practices and specialized centers. The cleansing heads are individually sterile-packed, intended for single use only, and protected against accidental reuse by an innovative software safeguard. In this way, curason combines safety with ease of use.

It is not only users who see curason as a new standard in wound treatment: manufacturers of modern wound dressings, germ-killing technologies, and wound irrigation solutions also confirm that thorough pretreatment with curason can significantly increase the effectiveness of their products. As a pioneer of a new form of wound therapy, curasonix is continuously developing further product solutions based on this advanced technology – in close collaboration with innovative partners.
The technology is protected by 15 granted patents in Europe, Asia, and North America, including in the DACH region, France, the UK, Italy, the USA, China, Japan, and South Korea. Medical device approvals already exist in Thailand, Canada, Australia, and Brazil, underscoring the international relevance and future viability of curasonix technology.
Markt und Zielgruppe
curasonix addresses a rapidly growing global market for modern wound care. Worldwide, at least 70 million people are affected by chronic or infected, non-healing wounds and are receiving medical or clinical treatment. With an average of approximately five curason applications per patient over the course of treatment, this results in a maximum market potential of more than 350 million applications per year. This represents an attractive multi-billion-euro market with high medical and health-economic relevance.
In its commercialization strategy, curasonix focuses on countries with well-developed clinical infrastructure and high quality standards for wound treatment. The curason is already available in key markets across Europe, South America, and the Middle East; additional international markets, including the USA, will follow. National registrations and approvals have been successfully completed in recent years. In addition to Europe, the product is already in use in Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, and Canada, among other markets, with its global presence being continuously expanded.
The target groups are certified therapists and healthcare providers treating patients with open wounds, in particular physicians, hospitals, and wound care centers. Patients benefit from a gentle, low-pain treatment that also allows repeated applications until complete wound closure and significantly increases treatment acceptance.
For users, curason offers an easy-to-learn, mobile solution that can also be used by trained nursing staff and facilitates outpatient treatment. Healthcare systems and payers benefit from significant cost-saving potential through shorter treatment times, fewer dressing changes, and lower hospitalization rates.

Competition and USPs
The wound cleansing market has so far been characterized by large, stationary, and cost-intensive systems that offer only limited mobility and often may only be operated by specialized professionals. Until now, there has been no simple yet economically viable solution for treating non-healing wounds. This is precisely where curasonix comes in with the curason.
The curason is easy to use – comparable to the routine of brushing one’s teeth – and can be used not only by physicians, but also by qualified nursing staff. For the first time, it combines the advantages of established wound cleansing technologies such as ultrasound, mechanical cleansing, and vibration in a single handheld device. As a result, treatment is significantly more cost-effective than existing systems, both in terms of acquisition costs and ongoing operating expenses.
A key unique selling proposition is its technological uniqueness: The development of the curason has been fully completed and financed, and the product is ready for series production. The patented technology is protected in 15 countries; currently, there is neither a commercially competitive product nor a genuine alternative solution on the market.
As the only solution, the curason closes the gap in the treatment cycle. By enabling simple wound cleansing, it supports further therapeutic measures and helps reduce costs.
Disadvantages of competing products and advantages of the curason:
- Competing products cost between €15,000 and €45,000 to purchase.
- The ongoing costs of competing products range from €70 to €350 per treatment and are therefore at least 100% higher than the costs of the curason.
- Competing products are generally large and heavy and cannot be used in mobile care settings or flexibly for treatment in hospitals.
- The installation of competing products is time-consuming and often very complicated.
Business Model and Sales
curasonix pursues a clearly structured B2B business model based on recurring revenues and high scalability. The curason is specifically designed for professional users in the medical environment and is not a consumer product. Revenues are generated through the sale of the curason as well as the continuous sale of sterile-packed single-use cleansing heads. In addition, rental models for the device will also be offered in the future.
The core of the business model is the cleansing heads, which are used once per treatment and enable regular, predictable revenues while at the same time reducing high upfront investments for users. The generator can either be purchased through authorized distributors or used under an annual rental model. This model facilitates market access for new customers and increases long-term customer retention.
Through the continuous use of the curason, curasonix maintains close contact with its users worldwide. The resulting usage and satisfaction data flow directly into therapy support, product optimization, the development of standardized treatment protocols, and clinical follow-up.
curasonix’s business model is characterized by attractive margins (currently approximately 30% for cleansing heads and 40% for the device) and offers significant scaling potential. The cleansing heads are protected by patents and technical safeguards. In addition, their applicability in veterinary medicine opens up further growth potential without additional regulatory hurdles.
Successes to Date
The company was founded in 2015 and was able to bring its first major investor on board as early as 2016. The technical development was secured through this initial investment, and further follow-on investments enabled curason to undergo clinical testing and successfully obtain CE approval by 2021. In the following years, countries such as Brazil, Australia, and Canada were successfully added as markets requiring regulatory approval. Since 2025, we have also had access to validated series production, enabling us to serve the markets we have opened up successfully on a commercial scale. The revenue development from initially approximately EUR 1 million per year to a planned annual revenue of more than EUR 30 million in 2030 will be driven to a large extent by the planned market entry into the USA. To this end, cooperation discussions are already underway with a distribution partner in the USA whose objective is to complement its product portfolio with the curason wound cleanser. The distribution partner already offers three products which, when combined with curason, complete a "one-stop-shop" offering.
Targets and Use of Capital
As part of the current financing round, curasonix is seeking a funding volume of €500,000 . The objective is to specifically finance the next phase of growth and reliably meet increasing market demand. The majority of the funds will be used for the procurement of materials to fulfill existing orders as well as for the production of the curason. In particular, this will ensure the liquidity required to finance upfront manufacturing costs.
In addition, the capital will be invested in the adaptation and optimization of production tools in order to further increase efficiency and establish the foundation for scalable series production.
In the short and medium term, the capital raised is intended to achieve key milestones: the increase of production capacities, reliable product availability, and the structured scaling of the business model in line with a clearly defined phased plan. This includes expanding into additional countries, continuously increasing revenue, and sustainably optimizing profitability through improved production processes.
Through the financing, curasonix expects significant growth effects, with a revenue target of approximately €1 million in 2026. The timing for an investment is ideal: Product development has been completed, curason is approved as a medical device in several international markets, and is already being used by around 180 end customers – with annual customer growth of 25–30%.
